Truegrain is a high quality textured polyester drafting film for artists and printmakers to produce images for exposure onto silk screens. The unique surface and high level of transparency allows the reproduction of the image without the aid of photography or other intermediate methods.
Mediums such as charcoal, graphite, pen & ink, gouache and oil pastel can be drawn directly onto the Truegrain - the textured layer holds the medium onto the surface allowing subtle tones to be achieved. The film can then be placed directly on a screen treated with photo emulsion and exposed to light thus transferring the image directly onto the screen.
