A simple, traditional formulation of pigments finely ground in linseed oil. Ideal for wood engraving and al letterpress printing.

Carbon Black: Contains un-toned carbon black pigment finely ground into linseed oil.

Ivy Black: Contains carbon black with a hint of green pigment to give a cool, crisp print.

Seville Black: Contains carbon black & benzedine pigments to impart a warm citrus dimension.

Plum Black: Contains carbon black & rouge rubis pigments to give a warm plum-black print.

Midnight Black: Contains carbon black & Victoria blue pigments to give a dense, blue-toned black print. Traditionally, blue-toned blacks have the least resistance to rub and are not best suited for work subject to a high degree of handling.

Graphite Black: Gives what might be described as a 'lead pencil' print. The opaque, slightly metallic look results from the addition of silver ink platelets to a traditional carbon black pigment base.


Please note that these inks in tins are supplied by weight and not volume. Different colours will weigh different amounts so some tins may appear to be fuller than others.
