Combiframe ® frame system
(with
patented corner connection)
COMBIFRAME ® ADVANTAGES
Combiframe® is a frame
system that has been developed for creative
people to replace expensive custom-made basic
frames. You can now quickly make a frame
yourself in almost any format and paint it in
the colour of your choice.
HOW TO MAKE THE FRAME
Lay frame parts on a flat
surface and place corners against one another.
Press the corners precisely against one
another. Press the corner pin with the hollow
side into the resulting opening. Then carefully
hammer the corner pin in further.

HOW TO FRAME THE CANVAS
STRETCHER OF BOARD
 |
Mount the pin
strip boards/clamping springs
approximately 5 - 10 cm from the corners
and distribute the remainder over the
frame. |
FRAMING THE DOUBLE
SIDED SHADOW BOX
 |
The Combiframe®
shadow box can be used in two ways:
Shadow Box: Use pin strip clamps and put
a piece of cardboard, for example,
between clamp and frame to protect the
other side.
Other Side: Use pin strip boards. |
TIPS FROM THE EXPERT
If an outside corner is
not even after the frame has been made, this can
easily be remedied with sandpaper. With larger
frames the corner connection can be further
reinforced by adding wood glue or L-shaped
corner plates. With smaller frames this is not
necessary. The rebate has an extra 4mm of space
to accommodate a canvas stretcher. Use steel
wire to hang large frames or heavier works.
UNTREATED WOOD
Combiframe® frame parts
are made of untreated 'natural' wood. As a
result, a natural reaction to moisture,
temperature and light may occur. The wood may
'yellow' slightly and the frame parts may deform
a little. Nevertheless, with a little effort
and skill the frame can always be made quickly
and correctly. As far as possible, store the
packages Combiframe® frame parts in a dry place
at a constant temperature and keep them in the
packaging for as long as possible.
