This non-toxic water-based intaglio ink is like a "dream come true." It is strongly pigmented, made with the highest quality of gum binders. Prints sharp images on damp paper and can even be re-soaked immediately after printing. Akua-Intaglio wipes easily from the plate and still prints fine lines, subtle aquatints and strong blacks. 

Akua-Intaglio works well for all types of intaglio / etched plates including the new safer alternatives.

Akua-Intaglio cleans up easily with soap and water. Now, you can eliminate the need for toxic solvents, expensive ventilation systems and fireproof containers. 

Akua Itaglio Inks are considered vegan.

Product Information

This non-toxic water-based intaglio ink is like a "dream come true." It is strongly pigmented, made with the highest quality of gum binders. Prints sharp images on damp paper and can even be re-soaked immediately after printing. Akua-Intaglio wipes easily from the plate and still prints fine lines, subtle aquatints and strong blacks. 

Akua-Intaglio works well for all types of intaglio / etched plates including the new safer alternatives. It also, has the advantage of rolling up nicely for relief printing and now offers exciting possibilities for printing viscosity monotypes when used in combination with Akua-Kolor. 

Akua-Intaglio cleans up easily with soap and water. Now, you can eliminate the need for toxic solvents, expensive ventilation systems and fireproof containers. 

Akua-Intaglio is reasonably priced and affordable for students. In addition you can save money by re-using tarlatan and rags after rinsing them with soap and water. Ink will not skin or harden in the jar or on the ink slab so no ink is ever wasted. Use an inexpensive dish detergent diluted with water for cleaning up all surfaces and plates. 

Prints made with Akua-Intaglio are permanent and will not bleed when re-soaked in water. Finished prints are indistinguishable from oil-based prints. Akua-Intaglio wipes off plates quickly and easily. Even hard to wipe collagraph and carborundum plates take only minutes to wipe with Akua-Intaglio. With Akua-Intaglio you have the option to print on damp or dry paper. You may decide upon this according to what may be best suited for your platemaking technique. Plates with greater tonal value, deeply bitten or raised surfaces require dampened paper. It may not be necessary to dampen paper for shallow bitten plates with high contrast images. 

Please note that the tins are supplied by weight and not volume. Different colours will weigh different amounts so some tins may appear to be fuller than others.

Delivery

Delivery Times & Charges 

We endeavour to dispatch your order as soon as possible after it is received, although some delays can occur during busy periods. Delivery is generally within 1 to 2 working days from the day you complete your order. Please allow up to 5 working days for your order to arrive before contacting us.

We may occasionally send part of the order if not all items are currently in stock. We will contact you in these instances and you will not incur additional shipping charges for UK mainland orders.

If there is likely to be any undue delay to your order we will attempt to contact you via phone or e-mail. 

If there are any issues during delivery, the carriers will attempt to contact you by phone (if a number is provided). If the courier is unable to deliver, for any reason, a second delivery attempt will be made the next working day. The goods will then be held for 5 days with the carriers before being returned to us.

If your order is sent via Royal Mail they will leave a card if they are unable to deliver and you can either collect from your local sorting office or re-arrange delivery. If your package does not arrive Royal mail requires us to wait for 14 working days before we are able to raise a claim. Please contact us in these circumstances.
