Royal Mail Strike Action

Royal Mail has announced strike action on the following dates:

  • 12th & 14th, 23rd-25th, 30th November
  • 1st & 2nd December

This is likely to cause severe disruption to the delivery of Royal Mail parcels.

Please use DHL courier delivery if you want to avoid delays and order your items as early as possible. 

Delivery Times & Charges

We endeavour to dispatch your order as soon as possible after it is received, although some delays can occur during busy periods. Delivery is generally within 2 to 3 working days from the day you complete your order but during busy periods it may take 3-5 working days to despatch. Please allow up to 5 working days for your order to arrive before contacting us and during busy periods 5-7 days.

We may occasionally send part of the order if not all items are currently in stock. We will contact you in these instances and you will not incur additional shipping charges for UK mainland orders.

If there is likely to be any undue delay to your order we will attempt to contact you via phone or e-mail.

If there are any issues during delivery, the carriers will attempt to contact you by phone if a number is provided. If the courier is unable to deliver, for any reason, a second delivery attempt will be made the next working day. The goods will then be held for 5 days with the carriers before being returned to us.

If your order is sent via Royal Mail they will leave a card if they are unable to deliver and you can either collect from your local sorting office or re-arrange delivery. If your package does not arrive Royal mail requires us to wait for 14 working days before we are able to raise a claim. Please contact us in these circumstances. 

International orders allow between 7-14 days for delivery. There are now additional customs checks and paperwork that need to be completed which may cause a slight delay in delivery times.

Please contact Lawrence Art Supplies directly if you have any issues with delivery, we will pass on instructions to the carrier. 

United Kingdom

Free delivery: spend over £100 ONLINE

Applies UK mainland only, orders placed online on our website, next working day from date of despatch with time slot provided on day of delivery (tracked DHL).

Economy - Royal Mail 2nd Class Delivery: £3.95

Express/priority delivery*: £9.99 for normal orders, £15.99 for bulky items

Your order will receive priority in our warehouse and will leave the same day provided it is placed before 12pm *subject to stock availability

Paper: £12
Next working day from date of despatch with time slot provided on day of delivery (tracked DHL). Large sheets of paper require special handling and extra packaging to ensure it is not damaged in transit.

Monday-Saturday: 10am-5pm 

We will keep your items ready for collection 14 days from the date of this email. Once this time expires your order will be cancelled and refunded.

Saturday Delivery: £17.25

Orders must be placed before 12pm between Monday - Friday (UK mainland only)

London Congestion Zone Delivery: £7.50

Applies to delivery in these postcodes: EC1, EC2, EC3, EC4, SE1, SW1, W1, WC1 and WC2

Very Large or Extra Heavy Items: Charged at Cost.  

These items include presses, drying racks, plan-chests and the like. The delivery charge will depend on the item itself and where we are sending it to. The charges for these items are based on postal code and will require a custom quote from the Lawrence Art Supplies team.

Highlands & Islands

Depending on the value/weight of your order, you will have three choices when it comes to carriage which are:

In some cases we may not be able to use the Economy Royal Mail. If this is the case, we will contact you to discuss these charges. The price for DHL varies depending on your postal code as follows:

Zone B - £6.95 or Free delivery if over £100

Please select 'Guernsey' or 'Jersey' as the country instead of 'United Kingdom' when placing your order. This will mean that you will not pay VAT.

Standard 2-3 Working Days - DHL £21.31

Our shopping cart will assume that we have to send your order via a carrier in a single parcel and will make a £21.31 charge for carriage. If, for any reason, the actual carriage charge is higher than the shopping cart's estimate we will contact you for approval before processing your order.

Overseas

Please allow between 7-14 days for delivery. There are now additional customs checks and paperwork that need to be completed which may cause a slight delay in delivery times.

Republic of Ireland

Our shopping cart will assume that we have to send your order via a carrier in a single parcel and will make a £25.09 charge for carriage. If the actual carriage cost is less than estimated we will manually alter your order and refund the difference to your original payment method. If the actual carriage charge is higher than the shopping cart's estimate we will contact you before processing your order.

Europe & the Rest of the World

Our shopping cart will estimate that the order weighs 3kg and will be sent by UPS in a single parcel by the cheapest rate. Once we weigh the parcel(s) volumetrically we will be able to provide a more accurate carriage cost. We will never charge you more than the estimated carriage charge without your prior approval. There may be times when the carriage charge is lower and in this case we will process your order without delay and refund your original payment method the difference in price.

We can send orders via Royal Mail tracked service if they meet the criteria, we will contact you and offer you this option if it is available.

If you need an exact carriage charge before ordering please contact us with your full delivery address and the items you would like to order. We'll get back to you as quickly as possible with a quotation.

Please note that our delivery charges do not include and taxes or import duties that may be imposed by the recipient's customs authorities. We have no way of knowing if these charges may be imposed or how much they may be. We would advise you to contact your local customs office for advice.

Please note we do not deliver to PO Boxes. 

Returns

If you wish to return an item:

Please do not send any goods back without contacting us first. We will need to initiate a returns procedure to ensure that the returned goods are identified and that any refund or exchange is done as quickly as possible.

You may cancel your order at any time within 14 working days of receipt of the goods.

The goods must be returned, unused and in the same condition as you received them, at your expense. You must obtain proof of postage. We cannot accept liability for any returns lost or damaged in transit. We quality check all of our returns and if they do not meet our policy conditions your return may be declined. 

We will refund you the cost of the goods to your original payment method (excluding the initial delivery charges). 

If your items arrived damaged or do not arrive within the package you must report this us within 48 hours of receiving the goods and provide photos (including of how the parcel arrived to you). 

Items exempted from the Distance Selling Regulations include items made or modified to order (presses, press blankets, paper or metal cut to order) and DVD's.
